Primary Units

Primary Units

Crushing and Screening Primary Units are the initial equipment used for breaking and classifying raw materials such as rock or stone. These units are commonly used in industrial applications such as mining, quarries, construction, and road building. Here is an overview of crushing and screening primary units;

Primary Units and Their Functions

Crushing (Crusher): This unit is used to break raw materials into larger pieces. Crushers are typically hammer crushers or jaw crushers.
Screening: This unit classifies the crushed raw materials according to their sizes. Screens can be vibratory or rotary drum screens.

Crushing (Crusher) Units

Hammer Crushers:
Operating Principle: They break down materials using high-speed rotating rotors and hammers. The material is crushed by the impact of the hammers.
Applications: Commonly used for breaking down hard and brittle materials. Often used in sand and gravel production.

Jaw Crushers:
Operating Principle: They crush materials by compressing them between a fixed jaw and a movable jaw. The material is crushed as it is squeezed between these jaws.
Applications: Used for initial breaking of large and hard materials. Widely used in construction and mining.

Screening Units

Vibrating Screens:
Operating Principle: They classify materials through vibratory motion of the screen surface, which helps in separating materials based on their sizes. Vibratory motion facilitates the movement and passing of materials through the screen.
Applications: Used for classifying crushed materials by size. Commonly used in quarries and construction.

Basic Components

Crusher (Hammer or Jaw): The unit responsible for the crushing of raw materials.
Screen (Vibratory or Rotary Drum): The unit used for classifying crushed materials by size.
Feeding Hopper: The entry point where raw materials are fed into the crusher or screening unit.
Discharge Conveyor: The conveyor belt used for transporting crushed or screened materials.
Motor: The power source that drives the crusher and screening units.

Advantages

Efficiency: Ensures rapid and effective crushing and classification of raw materials.
Flexibility: Various combinations of crushers and screens are available for different types of raw materials.
Production Capacity: High capacity for processing large volumes of material with efficiency.
Size Control: Allows for the production of material in desired sizes after crushing or screening.
Durability: Built to be durable and long-lasting with robust construction.

Applications

Mining and Quarries: Used for ore crushing and stone production.
Construction: Used in road building, building construction, and infrastructure projects.
Recycling: Used for crushing and recovering waste materials.
